The Story
This terrific little spot in Vandalia offers a fun outing with a classic vibe, reminiscent of an old burger joint from the 1960s. Their milkshakes are truly on point and incredibly good. While enjoying the nostalgic atmosphere, a chocolate shake is a highly recommended order.

In our effort to systematically knock out the entire list of establishments on the Ohio Ice Cream Trail, this was next (or more accurately, it was the most convenient place on the list we had yet to visit). And it turned out to be a terrific little spot in Vandalia. It's funny because it has been around since 1964, meaning that it's almost as old as we are. We grew up in the general area and we had never heard of it, let alone tried it. The simple decor featured a decent number of seats. It was set up to order from the counter. Milkshakes are on point, so good. Food is okay, has the nostalgia of an old burger joint from the 60s, but price.... oh boy, a simple burger and a small shake (no fries etc) for a family of 4 is easily approaching 50 bux. Fun outting very occasionally once in a blue moon.

We were there this past Saturday. Looked like there were plenty of employees, around 5 people. They were busy but the girl who was supposed to be taking orders must have thought it was more important to take time to vacuum the rug in front of us instead of taking our order. She finally took our order then slowly made our items, possibly without washing her hands after vacuuming. It was strange. The shakes were good but my son's Cyclone he ate had too much Snickers and not enough ice cream.
