If you haven’t been to As You Like It Ice Cream Shop yet, you’re definitely missing out, especially if you live in Somerset County or happen to be around the Raritan area. Located right on the corner of W. Somerset Street and Wall Street, this spot is well worth stopping by. I had the vanilla hard ice cream with Oreos mixed in, and it was outstanding. Fresh, flavorful, and made exactly the way good ice cream should be. They also have a large variety of flavors, toppings, and combinations to choose from, so there’s something for just about everyone. What also stood out to me was how clean and welcoming the shop was. Nick provided excellent customer service from the moment we walked in, professional, friendly, and genuinely welcoming, which always makes the experience better. On top of that, there’s plenty of convenient street parking nearby. Overall, great ice cream, great atmosphere, and great service. I highly recommend checking this place out if you appreciate a quality local business and a good dessert spot.

The girl who scooped my ice cream and then rang me up tried to charge me $20 for a medium cone (2 scoops) and a kiddie cone with sprinkles. She typed in the original total very quickly and barely looked when she did it. I pointed out the total because I thought that sounded extremely high, especially because she skimped me on the kiddie cone so much and barely filled it. She recalculated the total and apologized (haphazardly), and it came out to $12. So folks, make sure the workers are charging you correctly. I’m glad she apologized, but it was a big mistake to make, especially for a first-time customer like myself. If I hadn’t noticed, I would’ve been overcharged $8.

The vegan soft vanilla is the best vegan ice cream I’ve had in Jersey, top 2 of all time. So good! I didn’t feel like I was missing out at all, and felt a bit of joy I’ve lost since going dairy free once again. Thank you. So delicious!

We have gotten ice cream here a few times since the new ownership. I have asked for vanilla ice cream with cherry dip and they only once had given a decent amount of cherry dip on the ice cream the other three times there was barely any on the ice cream. I fully understand it does melt the soft serve, but even when you get to the rest of the ice cream you don't find more on the sides. It's sad because they do have some good flavors in hard ice cream wish you could see online the current ones they are carrying as they do change.
