Immediately upon entering you are greeted with samples of shortbread cookie and rocky road chocolate. Also some delicious coffee. Someone else was passing out samples of chocolate dipped shortbreads. All the staff was very nice and helpful. It was neat to see the factory in action. The gift shop is huge and tons of flavors of items to take home with you.

Big Island Candies is a "must do" in Hilo. You are greeted at the door with a delicious sample of the day. They do ask if you have and allergies and you are also offered free coffee and water as well. Aside from the fabulous selection of cookies, brownies and nuts... you will be mesmerized by the highly skilled Staff in the factory doing detailed and precision chocolate application to each piece. We are thrilled to share our delicious purchase with our friends this weekend in Kona and more to bring back home to enjoy with our family. Make Big Island Candies a mandatory stop on your next visit to Hilo! You will thank me for it later.

Big island .¿candies ? Or rather, Big Island Cookies!. That's what you'll find in this store. Good customer service. I think used to be able to watch them produce and package the cookies from the counters, but not anymore. Overprice.!

Sweet staff and a nice shop, not much of a selection and may leave you wanting more. Good for gifts but more authentic Hawai'ian souvenirs like Kona coffee may be a better shout.
