Really tasty gelato with fun flavors. Black Dog Gelato is tucked away in streets of housing in East Ukrainian Village with a very unassuming look. Both the malted vanilla pretzel and Italian cookie were scrumptious and had smooth texture and richness. Definitely a shop every ice cream lover should give a visit!

Literally just found out about Black Dog Gelato - and they are the best gelato in Chicago! So rich in flavor & texture is great. Can’t wait to go back and see what’s on their monthly special !!

This shop is a real Chicago gem. Inventive and delicious flavors—and you can take pints home at a big discount. Love that their hours mean they are always there when you need them. A joy for the entire neighborhood. Supporting local businesses is everything. And they make it easy to do!

I love this place! There are new monthly flavors, and all their flavors are so intense. The pistascio and the hazelnut both have such intensely nutty flavors, way moreso than any other I've had. The espresso chocolate chip Gelato was not as firm as some other gelatos, so I'm not sure if something was off with that batch. However, it's flavor is on point. There are also these delicious little candy crisps that I love. If you're a fan of a good waffle cone, they make theirs in house and they are delicious. As far as gelato shops go, the prices are average. I think my husband and I both paid about 16$ for two double scoop waffle cones. I do just wish they had toppings to add, as I love brownie in my ice cream. They do make homemade cookies and brownie as well, so maybe it's a possibility in the future. Currently they just don't have the counter space for that, or at least that is how it seems.
