The Story

Brent's Drugs has been Jackson's counter since 1946 — turquoise booths, chrome stools and a menu of shakes and breakfast plates. It's been in films for a reason: nothing about it has been redecorated into the present.

Incredible location and old filming set from many films! The menu was pretty dire for vegans, that’s why I’ve given just 4 stars for food. Actually there’s just one thing that was available for vegan and that was the veggie burger I just asked for it without cheese, but it was pretty tasty and the fries were good too, I had a homemade lemonade which was really good as they had no alternative milks other than cow milk. I liked the lemonade and the diner itself is so cool, lots of memorabilia from the days as a diner and a cool room at the back. Also had booth seating, tables and counter seating. Would definitely recommend!

I happened to be in the area and getting hungry, this was in the "Passport to Jackson", so I gave it a chance. Very cute, well-maintained diner that has the old school ice cream, milkshakes and malts. I got the Brents Burger with fries. Both were quite good. Service was fast and friendly, prices were reasonable. I loved the displays near the restrooms of pictures, pharmacy equipment. The restrooms were also very clean and cute. I look forward to coming back when I am in the area again.

Old School Cool that earns its cool. Been around forever and still serving at the soda fountain. I had a Philly Cheesesteak on a Texas Toast. Yes you read that right. The meat is tender and the toast holds up well. Is it my favorite way to have a Philly? No. But it’s a very good play on the traditional favorite. The fries are fresh and not my favorite style but they are good. I also had a root beer float. Wonderful. The place leans into its past and does so in an authentic way. It’s a great place to grab a soda and a burger and remember that many before also eat here.
