Buda rebuilt its old drug store as a proper soda fountain, and it now anchors the little downtown south of Austin with floats, malts and a screen door that never stops swinging.

It’s been many years and many long miles since I walked into our local drug store, sat at the counter and enjoyed an ice cream cone. The pharmacist knew us all as did the women at the lunch/ice cream counter. They never had to count the candy bars on the racks around the store because they knew we didn’t dare risk getting Caudel. This was the center of a great big friendly town where, as they say, everybody knows your name. I found it agai here in Buda at the Budy Drug Store. Great friendly people, behind every counter, fantastic food, wonderful sandwiches, and delicious Ice Cream, and pharmacists that know my name.i think we’re home Toto!

This is our go-to ice cream spot so much so that our kiddo is considered a regular! The ice cream is delicious, the soda fountain is charming but most importantly the staff is amazing. Everyone is so warm and welcoming. We look forward to our weekly visit. Oh and if something isn't on the menu, they'll do their best to create it for you!

They greet me by name every single time, which says so much about the level of care and attention they give their customers. Their team consistently provides outstanding customer service and is always willing to take the time to answer questions and offer helpful guidance. What really sets them apart is how hard they work behind the scenes—especially when it comes to insurance. They’ve gone the extra mile to navigate issues with my secondary insurance and even helped resolve glitches that could have easily been brushed off elsewhere. That kind of dedication is rare. It’s comforting to know I can trust them not only with my prescriptions but also with genuine care and support. Buda Drug Store is a true gem in our community, and I’m so grateful for them!
