I grew up in Fredericksburg but moved to California years ago. It had been ten years since my last visit, and one of the greatest joys of returning was bringing my daughters to a place I loved growing up. We ordered my longtime favorite—the chocolate malt—along with a vanilla and a strawberry soft-serve in waffle cones. There is simply nothing like these cold, sweet treats on a hot summer day. Carls is a staple in the community. Love it back in the 90s and still love it today. Creamy custard is so delicious. Don't skip out if the line is long because it moves super fast. Make sure you have cash and enjoy!

Came here with family, Carl's has the best frozen custard. Enjoy a shake or a Sunday. I loved their vanilla custard with real hot fudge. Simple but perfect. Staff was friendly and service was fast.
