A place that I’ve always seen full! 🍹 We ordered a few different drinks and really enjoyed them. A cold version of the Irish coffee for warmer weather would be a nice addition. 🍕 The pizzas were tasty with a focaccia-style base and reasonably priced. One small detail: the slices were packaged for takeaway even though we were dining in. Plates would have improved the experience a bit. 📍 The space is cozy, so it’s probably best for a quick stop or casual bite. 💭 Final thought: I’d definitely come back. The drinks were excellent!

Carmella’s is a fantastic spot for anyone looking for high-quality desserts in downtown Charleston. The selection is impressive—the cakes and gelato were excellent and lived up to the reputation. The atmosphere has a great "Old-World" charm that fits the area perfectly. I was particularly pleased that the service was both good and fast. Even with a full house, the staff moved efficiently, and we didn't have to wait long at all to be served. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is a little noisy inside. Between the music and the crowd, the acoustics make for a very high-energy, loud environment. It’s perfect if you're looking for a lively vibe, but maybe not the place for a quiet, intimate conversation. Overall, a great experience if you want delicious sweets and quick, professional service!

Carmella’s Cafe & Dessert Bar went from “saved on IG” to an instant favorite. I had an early morning meeting and this spot delivered exactly the cozy, quaint energy I needed to ease into the day. The menu is stacked with great breakfast options. It was honestly hard to choose. I went with a breakfast sandwich on focaccia and it did not disappoint. I paired it with an iced green tea, which was refreshing and perfect for the morning. Now the dessert case… everything looked incredible. The kind of place where you come for breakfast and find yourself back later for something sweet. The banana pudding definitely caught my eye!🍌 The staff was warm, welcoming, and made the whole experience even better. If you love a cute café vibe with great food and an inviting feel, Carmella’s is a must when you’re in Charleston.

PHENOMENAL ATMOSPHERE AND SERVICE!!! Southern hospitality at its finest! Immediately when you walk in, you feel at home. Welllllll if your home surrounds you with a case full of heavenly made pies, cakes, and delectables and a grill and bar turning out tantalizing treats for your tastebuds— then yes, yes you’ll feel right at home! THE BEST KEY LIME PIE EVVVVVVERRRR! Do yourself a favor and add this place to your itinerary of must visit places in Charleston! You will only regret it if you skip it!
