  Since it is my boyfriend's birthday today, I wanted to get him something that he really loves. I also got him an actual birthday gift, but I wanted to do something more. He literally loves every type of chocolate on the face of the planet. I thought about just getting a pound of chocolate covered pecans, but then I remembered we had that a couple of months ago. Instead I bought a really nice chocolate gift assortment called Neuhaus. It contained 88 pieces of all different types that I am sure he will love. Thus chocolate store is definitely high end so bring your credit card!

  Like the name implies, you can get chocolate here. Depending on what you’re looking for, you will find the chocolate you want. It had truffles, DC building shaped chocolate and a few brands of bars. I found it to be a bit too many things going on though for such a small space. This place would earn 5 stars from me if it had a bit more consistent clear chocolate promise. Is it truffles? Is it DC monument shaped chocolate? Or is it solid bean to bar chocolate bars? Right now, it’s a little bit of everything but in a small space there isn’t much room to be great at any one thing. Just okay with all of them. All that being said, if you want some chocolate and aren’t caring too much about what - here’s a place to get some!

  The Neuhaus chocolate was good, I just wish the presentation and selection was better. The plastic liner and slots cheapens the overall look. I’ve tried this and compared it to Läderach Chocolate, the latter definitely tastes better (their praline box has better selection/presentation). I would recommend Läderach over the Neuhaus.

  Everything except the Dubai chocolate was horrible. Like so bad I had to spit it out. I had the 18 piece assortment and a few miscellaneous chocolates and it cost 125 dollars, I don’t even think I’d pay 10 dollars. The one star is honestly just for appearance because they were quite beautiful, but if you’re someone who likes it when things taste good maybe don’t come here. I’m astonished at the amount of high reviews on here, the range of the chocolates went from the taste equivalent of watching paint dry to genuinely torturous to the taste buds. If you are lucky enough to read this before entering here, maybe just buy the cookies and cream and Dubai chocolate and leave. They were very beautiful though, and the woman helping me was very sweet.
