The Story

The scent of sweet pie and fresh-brewed coffee welcomes you right alongside the gleam of vintage automobilia. Old-fashioned sodas and creamy malts bring back sunny, simpler days with every delightful sip and spoonful. This charming little parlor offers a perfect pause, a cozy step back in time on a dusty New Mexico road.

Don't let the rust and dust fool you. This place is the real deal! There's so much outside that you might forget that there's an inside, but when you step inside that front door you're immediately awestruck by the amount of mint condition automobilia! I took so many pictures with my Nikon camera. Not so much to post publicly, but so I could go back and look at everything because you'll never be able to take it all in at once. It's almost overwhelming how much cool stuff the owner has acquired over the years. I met him and he is a very friendly laid back kinda guy who loves to talk. When I get all my photos downloaded I'll post an image of him with a 1966 F100 hood badge I donated to the museum. I just happened to have it in my truck when I drove all the way from Austin 😁 If you see the brown sign that says "museum" slow down and get ready to turn left! You won't be disappointed!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Johnnie's Classic Gas Pump Museum, and it exceeded all my expectations. The collection of gas pumps, signs, and vintage gas station memorabilia is impressive and showcases a fascinating piece of automotive history. Each item tells a story, making the museum not only visually captivating but also educational. What truly made the visit memorable was Johnnie himself. He is personable, engaging, and eager to share his passion for gas station memorabilia, making the experience feel intimate and inviting. I enjoyed our conversations and appreciated his knowledge about the various pieces in his collection. If you have any interest in history or nostalgia for classic cars and gas stations, I highly recommend stopping by Johnnie's museum. It’s a delightful experience that celebrates a unique slice of Americana!
