The Story
The rocking chairs on the porch welcomed us like an old friend before we even stepped inside this cozy Cracker Barrel in Billings. A delightful aroma of country cooking filled the air, promising a satisfying meal and a peek into simpler times. The attached candy shop, overflowing with jars of old-fashioned sweets, was a sugary wonderland just waiting to be explored.

As a Canadian, this restaurant is a novelty .. and we weren’t disappointed. The food was delicious and so much Choice!! The service was great and friendly. The little store - WOW .. if you enjoy country, kitschy unique items you will want to spend a little extra time here. The size of the portions are pretty substantial. Very enjoyable

The restaurant itself is great, but the staff make it shine! Sweet, kind, timely, and overall great service! We stopped and got breakfast and she was great at finding us a good deal off of the menu for the kids to help save a couple of dollars and gave my kids to go cups for the rest of their juice. Above and beyond service! Plus the food is amazing!! We are traveling with a trailer and they had a HUGE parking lot in the back big enough to park quite a few trucks & trailers, RV's, campers, etc.

Did a togo order online. Waited 25 minutes like it said. Got there and it wasn’t ready. After another 15 minutes the cashier decided he would go check on it and he came back and said that it was going to another 6 minutes for fried okra. So that makes our 25 minute would go up to 55 minutes so we opted for a side that was already ready. Walked back to hotel right next door and got to the room (like 2 minutes) all the food was cold except the apples and the dumplings. Grilled chicken was burnt and the meatloaf was hard as a rock. Pinto beans not fully cooked. Very disappointed. Traveling through town. Do not stop here if you’re traveling.

My wife and I recently visited this Cracker Barrel, and unfortunately it was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences we've had. My wife ordered the chicken and dumplings. Her soup arrived cold, and when her entrée came out, the chicken and dumplings were cold as well. My meal was the Campfire Beef. Instead of looking like the photos or what you'd expect from a restaurant, it was essentially beef stew dumped into a piece of aluminum foil. The presentation was unappetizing and honestly looked like very little care had gone into preparing or plating it. After our visit, Cracker Barrel emailed asking for feedback, so I took the time to explain what happened. Guest Relations responded by offering a digital compensation card worth up to $6. Considering we had multiple issues with our meals—including two cold dishes and a poorly presented entrée—that felt more like a token gesture than a sincere effort to make things right. I understand that every restaurant can have an off day, and I wasn't looking for anything unreasonable. I simply expected hot food, a meal that looked like it was prepared with care, and customer service that reflected the experience we had. Unfortunately, both the visit and the company's response left us disappointed. I hope management takes customer feedback more seriously, improves the consistency of the food coming out of the kitchen, and provides resolutions that better reflect the experience their guests have.
