Somehow I expected "locally owned" ice cream to be locally made as well, but I mean Umpqua is delicious so if it was just that I'd be fine. HOWEVER, a regular scoop is $6. $6!!!! That's the same as Salt and Straw!!! For Umpqua! I could buy 1.5 quarts of Umpqua at the store for 6.99 and no tip!! To add insult to injury, usually a single scoop at a place serving Tillamook, Umpqua, etc is very generous, probably like 8 oz worth at least. This place gave me the saddest tinest scoop. I think it was actually even smaller than a Salt and Straw scoop! If I'd known how tiny it would be I would have walked out after seeing that price. Tldr: if you want decently priced or locally made ice cream, don't go here. The counter girl was nice though.

We aren’t big dessert people, but we’ve been here a few times in the last couple years and very much enjoyed the friendly service and creamy treats. We’ve also been to other dairy hill locations and generally enjoyed it. It was cheaper than baskin robins and better. Not sure what happened to this place; whether it’s new ownership, loss of traffic or some other problem, but now it costs more than salt and straw and the quality is basically grocery store level. Perhaps it’s a new management thing or maybe it’s degradation from the Umpqua factory (apparently that’s the ice cream they sell—it’s inscribed in the buckets), but in any case it’s overpriced, sugar rich, flavor poor sadness in cups and cones now. Real bummer. Something has changed for the worse. I hope they do something different because the product was bad and the service was also not great.

It's umpqua ice cream. Six dollars for a small scoop. If a business is making it themselves I understand charging that much, but come on. (Photo is after ~3 bites)
