  Diner with great vibes! Our group of six walked-in for dinner and got seated at a curved booth with two chairs. The paintings, lamps, and music add to the fun aesthetics of the diner. You’re instructed to order via a corded phone at the table that rings the bar. We went during happy hour and were able to get cheeseburgers and fries for a few dollars off. One of our friends is vegetarian and there were a few options for them. The fry baskets are designed to be shared and are separate from the entres. The burgers are good, but pretty straight forward. We were celebrating a birthday, and the birthday girl was able to get a free piece of cake!

  There was a "special occasion" happening there on Valentine's Day 2026 when we went and they told us that they would not start serving food until 6pm. We got there right when it opened at 5pm and actually earlier as we waited outside. They said there was an announcement on their Facebook page but not their webpage. I do not use Facebook. There was also no sign on the door indicating the lack of food for an hour. We had a show to go to so didn't have time to go elsewhere. While we sat at the bar, we saw MANY people turn away at the "no food" news so we weren't the only ones in the dark by far. We saw the kitchen at work the whole time to and the food menus were at all the tables when we sat. Insult to injury. It was way too late for us to go to a different restaurant and eat before the show so we just had drinks. The bartender was fast and friendly and the drinks were excellent. We would like to go back and actually try the food so I can adjust my rating accordingly. Update 6 weeks later... I'm less pissed now so as long as you don't get hosed as above the food is delicious! I absolutely fell in love with The Rooster. It is succulent with a hint of spice and messy the way a good sandwich should be. The Fried Bologna sandwich is definitely a uniquely scrumptious treat. The Chicken Nachos are excellent with a hearty portion size. The fries were fresh and salty. Finally, the special Cynar Pina Colada Slushee was a bitter but still a little sweet delight.

  We had a nice time at Fizzys grabbing a later evening snack and drinks with some friends. It’s always fun ordering by the telephone at the booth. Staff was friendly. The fries and tots came out fresh and hot both were solid and great for our situation. High life was cold and my wife said her espresso martini was good but not fantastic. Parking is bad but that’s just the whole area. Overall a nice experience and definitely somewhere to checkout while in Little Bohemia!
