Stepping into Frite & Scoop felt like a sweet trip back to simpler times, where the cheerful hum of happy folks filled the air. The aroma of freshly made waffle cones mingled delightfully with savory hints of golden fries, promising a perfect pairing for any appetite. Every bite, from the creamy scoops to the crispy frites, tasted like pure small-town joy on a sunny afternoon.

    The age old question: should I get a savory or sweet treat? Well, a wise young girl once said "¿Por qué no los dos?". Which is exactly the kind of attitude you should have while visiting here at Frite & Scoop. Offering both a wide variety of high quality house-made ice cream desserts and hot/fresh fries, you definitely need to get both to get the authentic Frite & Scoop experience. I enjoyed a chocolate milk and cookies ice cream scoop, while my lady friend got a scoop of hokey pokey (honey comb toffee flavored) on a gluten free cone! We rarely see gluten free cones on the wild so she was absolutely thrilled when she saw them as an option! We got a large basket of fries. Hot, fresh, and crispy as fries should be. They offer a wide variety of dipping sauce to accompany the fries! Awesome location on the Astoria waterfront as well! A great place for tourists and local alike! There's no reason to not stop here for some fries and ice cream! And yes, you should get BOTH!!! It is called Frite AND Scoop after all, not Frite or Scoop.

    Looked for an opportunity to try vegan ice cream in Astoria - this place had the highest ratings. They offer both vegan ice cream and vegan sorbet. Standard flavors of course - vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate. The ice cream is soft serve - which I haven’t had in about 10 years since I first went vegan. The ice cream is solidly delicious. I was impressed with the texture as many vegan options don’t replicate dairy soft serve texture. Next time, hopefully the weather will be warmer, we can try the sorbet! Plus the cup, can’t have cones, was a plethora of positive messages! Who doesn’t enjoy a bit of word love in their day????

    Such a fun a little spot. We had french fries and home made ice cream. Oh my gosh, SO GOOD!!! The kids stuck with the classics. How boring is chocolate and vanilla at a specialty shop? But it was incredible! They don't allow samples, which is a bummer or I would have treated every flavor. (Probably why they don't offer samples!) I normally stick to things I know when I can't sample but I risked a little food adventure and tried the Astoria fog, which was Earl Gray and blackberry. So worth it! It was the most delicious random flavored ice cream I've ever had. I also thought the pricing was very reasonable. Would definitely go again, even without the kids.
