Amazing local ice cream shoppe. Heyns has all the classic ice cream flavors and treats (sundaes, shakes, etc.) plus enough unique, special options that make it always worthwhile to come back. A family bike trip over to Heyns is one of our absolutely favorite summer afternoon adventures.

Best experience as a person with celiac disease . Rory was so kind and she brought a whole new container and utensil to avoid cross-contamination. The ice cream was so delicious and they had so many aoptiong that were gluten free and dairy free

We were on a day trip to Iowa City and craved ice cream. I looked up ice cream and Heyn’s Premium Ice Cream popped up. We got a turtle sundae and a heath and butterfinger sundae. The young women were helpful and considerate. The sundaes were delicious. Heyn’s makes their ice cream from real milk, not milk powder. They have a menu with a lot of things to choose from. Bonus: not all ice cream stores offer baby cone size, but Heyn’s does! Double Bonus: they offer water in an urn on a cart for their patrons which is very nice.

We always like to stop at local favorites for ince cream after an adventure. I am so glad we stopped here at Heyn's! The ice cream was THICK & amazing! I got two scoops: lemon custard and cake batter. My fiancee had the monster cookie special twister. I was even surprised to find out they do pup cups! A shot of vanilla in a little cup. Our dog was so excited! 11/10 would go again. I love how they make their own signs for the flavors! Super creative and artistic. Also, the staff is super friendly.
