The Story
Stepping through the door at Hinlickity's, the scent of vanilla and sugar immediately wrapped around you, taking you back to simpler times. Red-and-white checkered floors and sparkling chrome stools invited folks to settle in for a spell, just like parlors of old. Each towering scoop, from classic chocolate to strawberry swirl, tasted like a little piece of summertime happiness right there on Bay Avenue.

What an amazing step back in time. An old-fashioned ice cream shop with absolutely delicious ice cream. Sundaes are awesome on Sunday, sitting in their nice little outdoor area. Great place. Highly recommended.

Beware, you ask for a waffle cone and it is not the regular small size. I asked for 3 small, baby sized ice cream cones. I was shocked when they said it was $24. The waffle cone was huge and the ice cream was the equivalent to three huge scoops. When I told the server I didn’t wasn’t expecting huge waffle cones. He said it was the smallest size cone they had. Then I saw another person with a small regular cone. The impression I left with is that they want to serve large portions so they can charge the most money they can possibly get away with. Maybe the miscommunication was on my side and my fault. Regardless, they also have a responsibility to protect their customers and explain things better a the point of transaction, especially when 3 baby sized ice creams ice cream cones are ordered and 3 huge cones show up with a price tag to match. You usually have one chance to win over a first time customer in order to make them a returning client. Unfortunately, Hinlickity’s came up short. When the first time customer leaves feeling as though they got the short end of the stick when it comes to value, you will most likely will not convert them into a returning customer. Sorry to say that was the case here.

what a delightful treat!! The place is kitchy, the ice cream is delicious, and the place is also super clean we really enjoyed everything about this spot You can spin the wheel for prizes too. but I think I recall it has something to do with a donation to something. so many flavors to choose from, we have to go back many, many many times.
