I was glad to have an excursion here the day before yesterday. The ambience of the shop is kind of run down but again I don’t let looks deter me. One thing I noticed is despite having a big screen “menu” atop the Order counter, it didn’t display the flavors. I stood there looking and waiting for the cycle to complete. The flavors weren’t displayed there. Instead it was actually on an old fashioned red board across from the counter lol. See my attached picture. The counter for ordering the food is separate from the ice cream section. But there is a wide seating and dining area. I wasn’t sure of the flavor to get, the staff said that I could try/taste them. I tasted the coffee toffee which I love. I also tried the pistachio but the neon green color put me off. I’m glad that I was able to order 2 scoops of different flavors on one cup. I had the coffee toffee and raspberry chocolate. Both were great! Later on I ordered ice cream soda amd they allowed me to use my own container which was nice. The ice cream Soda though has room for improvement. The soda wasn’t cold, I could also taste the saltiness of it and reminded me of tap water. I also ordered the seasonal peach ice cream. I was turned off by the weird orange shade color. The taste is also very odd and I couldn’t taste the peach in it. Overall I think the ice cream flavors are a hit and miss. But I would eat the coffee toffee again, the kona really stands out.

Ordered some ice cream for our Memorial Day party. Never tasted Spumoni this good. Loved the cappuccino, and the banana macadamia nut was unbelievable. I'm going to have to pay Homer's another visit. Need to stock up my home freezer . Love this place and love the homey atmosphere; but, most of all, I love the ice cream.

raspberry sorbet was the standout! Stopped by Homer’s for ice cream and loved the retro diner feel. My fiancé had the raspberry sorbet and it was phenomenal — super fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. The other flavors we tried (raspberry chip and moose tracks) were decent but didn’t blow us away. We didn’t try the food, but it looked solid — the kind of classic diner fare you’d come back for. Staff was friendly, service was quick, and the space was clean and welcoming. All in all, a cute stop — worth it for the vibe and that sorbet! But I wouldn’t necessarily go out of my way.

Homer’s is a true staple of the community. I grew up going there after baseball games at PeeWee Park, and I still make time to stop by whenever I’m back in town. It’s the kind of classic local spot that brings back great memories every time. You owe it to yourself to stop in for some cheese fries and a cone at the very least!
