Used to come here nearly every day by myself and try a new item on the menu each time. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is great, but the best part is all of their ice cream is the best (even the flavors I'm not too fond of)! My favorite on the menu would probably be the Cookie Monster, though the Valentine's Day special was also amazing.

My family and I come here every year for a big lunch and the service is always impeccable. They’re usually pretty busy, but they handle it well. The menu is very consistent (which I love) but it occasionally has some new additions. They even have some dairy free sorbets that are some of the best I’ve ever had! It’s often crowded and a little bit sticky, so it definitely has a classic diner feel, but it’s hospitable and delicious. Just remember how big the portions are! Side note: the Leatherby’s family is pretty controversial. I recommend looking into it before putting your dollars there, but you are supporting the young and kind servers.

I’ll be honest, I had really high hopes for this place. There’s a place like this called Rosemary’s in downtown Bakersfield. Coming here solidified it, Rosemary’s is absolutely the best family homemade ice cream parlor/diner in California. Let’s start by pointing out the obvious, this place is very overpriced. $17.99 for a sandwich, are you serious? Sure it was a decent size, but it was not special enough to be that price. I started with a bowl of chili. And that’s where the disappointment began. It was very bland and lacked flavor. Wish I did not order that at all. The sandwich is decent, but the thing is just oversized and overstuffed, ended up making it not so great. I should’ve stuck with a regular size sandwich, I think that would have been better. The ice cream, that was bomb. But how can you really mess up on ice cream. Homemade ice cream is always the best. All in all I gave this place 3 stars because of the service was great, they were very attentive and kind. Food is overpriced and honestly food doesn’t taste that great. I’m not saying don’t come here for ice cream, I think that’s the given that this place has a great ice cream. But if you’re looking to have lunch or dinner, you might have better luck without breaking your bank somewhere else.
