The Story
Lou's is a must-stop in the heart of town, offering a classic experience for breakfast or lunch. Be sure to try their legendary apple pie, described as a feast in itself, and consider taking one home from their bakery. While busy, the baked goods, including custom cakes, are often celebrated.

All I can say this is a must stop for breakfast or lunch. And make sure you try thier Apple pie. It's a feast by it self. Take one home too. The Bakery is in the center of town. Many little shops surrounding it. You can spend hours there. Also the beautiful Dartmouth College is right next door.

Just came from the restaurant where I had ordered what ordinarily is very good chicken soup. However, this time it was way way way over-salted. I took several spoonfuls, asked the waitress for the check, and told her the soup was inedible. I was not looking for any compensation. Nevertheless, she went to what seemed to be a manager type and mentioned this to him. He said “give him a cookie“. We ordered a 10-inch carrot cake for my son’s graduation from Dartmouth. It’s his favorite type of cake, and my sister was excited to order it from St. Louis, Missouri, and pick it up in Hanover this past weekend. She reported that the customer service was excellent, and the cake was a wonderful experience overall. I ate more than my fair share because I enjoyed every bite. If you’re a carrot cake lover, this is definitely the place to go.

Had lunch there with a friend. Wait was 20 minutes which was okay. Food was good. Waitress was good. Had not even finished my coffee and the owner asked us to leave because he had people waiting for a table. I find that unacceptable and told the owner so. I will never go back there. In response to the owner, it was a staff member who asked us to leave, a manager. It was the man who was seating people and bussing tables and easy to recognize. We were seated about 11:05 and he asked us to leave at 12:00. We had paid our bill but I was still finishing my coffee.
