People were friendly and helpful! The ice cream and cheese were delicious. Calf barn was so much fun. I will definitely be back.

We toured the calving barn and the robotic milking area. We purchased cheese products and meat inside the store. They have a small play area (basketball) for children outside. They have ice cream in the store also with free samples or for purchase.

While on a long drive, we saw a sign for Marcoot Jersey Creamery. As it happens, my mom had been wanting ice cream the night before. I said, "Hey, I bet they have GOOD ice cream, and we have a freezer in the car!" So we stopped. Spoiler alert: They have GOOD ice cream. They also have delicious butter and cheeses. I expect the meats are also top-notch, but I had a freezer full of meat and didn't need to acquire any more. They also have doggy-treat ice cream - the dog heartily approved of the cheddar-bacon flavored treat! If one has the time and inclination, they offer the opportunity to observe their dairy's operations, including a large viewing window into their processing area (which was being cleaned when we were there). Also, a very clean restroom. This was definitely worth the little detour from the interstate.

Store was closed for the Cheesefest. Which I feel was poor planning, with so many visitors, the store could have made a lot of money. Cheesefest was very small and not fun for older kids. Several things for really young kids, but not really worth the time it took to get there. We drove longer than we stayed. Most people were leaving after 15-30 minutes. The food was meh. I had the “famous grilled cheese” but it was more like eating toast. Barely any cheese and not enough butter used on the bread, so it was dry. We also got ice cream and it was completely melted it was like eating cold soup. Glad it was free because it was a bust.
