The Story

Since 1954, this Livingston institution has been a local favorite for its affordable, custom-made burgers, chili dogs, and famous shakes. The neon glow and sizzle evoke a classic drive-in experience, though seating is limited to picnic tables across the street. Be prepared for a wait during busy lunch hours, but many agree the shakes are worth it.

Thirty years in Montana and we’ve chased a lot of burgers across this big state. None of them hit quite like Mark’s In & Out. This little drive-in on West Park Street has been feeding Livingston since 1954, and it still feels like the best kind of time machine. Neon glow, the sizzle of fresh Montana beef, and that unmistakable smell of something fried to perfection drifting on the breeze. It’s pure, unapologetic fun. We loaded up like locals should: Cheese burgers that actually taste like beef (because they are—fresh, never frozen, ground nearby) Onion rings with the perfect crunch Crispy tate

This place never fails… we have been going for years and its awesome!! The burgers are affordable and custom made to your liking. Also the shakes are the best!! If you go at lunch time, it does get super packed. No seating available at the restaurant, but you could eat at picnic tables across the street. Parking on the street only.

Service and atmosphere was great. Ordered a burger, chicken sandwich, shake, two sodas, breaded mushrooms and onion rings. They forgot my chicken sandwich! Haha. No biggie, but the quality overall did not hit the spot for me. Food was meh. Price was great, breaded mushrooms were juicy and delicious, but I stopped halfway through my chicken sandwich. Quite a few pieces of gristle.

Im sorry but I dont understand the hype. I waited 30 minutes in line and was a okay with it in excitement to try some good beef burgers. Ordered 3 cheeseburgers add lettuce and a fry plus an onion ring. They gave me 3 cheeseburgers with lettuce only .... no onion, pickle, mustard, or ketchup. When I went back and told them, they took my original burgers back - INCLUDING THE ONE I TOOK A BITE FROM - and added the toppings on. How gross and unsanitary is that!? The burgers themselves are absolutely no different than McDonald's except for real beef but the portion sizes, flavor, and delivery are
