  To begin, this place seemed like a very nice place to stop by for some sweets. However, these nostalgic moments lasted only for seconds. Overall, the prices are out of the roof and I get that for the sweets you can’t get from your local grocery stores. Instead, all of your sweets you can buy at a normal grocery store are marked up like crazy. I had strolled through the aisles, and asked if I could taste test some of their products, they insisted that payment is made before we try. There is no issue with this, the issue was that they had a dirty look on their face which is totally unacceptable, and unprofessional. Do not recommend, unless you are willing to put up with distasteful behavior, and ridiculous comments and prices. To note, the ice cream was not in top condition whatsoever.

  I recently visited Maumee Valley Chocolate, and I have to say—the quality of their candy is absolutely incredible. The shop itself is spotless, beautifully set up, and has a welcoming atmosphere. The selection is unlike anything else in Toledo; they offer unique candies you simply won’t find at other stores. And the smell when you walk in? Amazing. I truly wish I could give them six stars based on product alone. However, as a fellow business owner, I believe customer service is just as important as the quality of what you’re selling—you have to have both. Unfortunately, my experience at the register didn’t match the excellence of their products. I had placed an order that was held for a couple of days for my business. When I came to pick it up, I politely asked if the order contained 36 pieces (three dozen) as requested, and if I could quickly check before purchasing—just to ensure accuracy. The employee at the register responded with noticeable attitude, saying, “I have no idea, it’s whatever you purchased and ordered. It’s been sitting here for days i didnt pack it” in a dismissive tone. When I tried to clarify, she laughed and seemed irritated by the question. That interaction left a bad impression. While the product quality is top-tier and truly some of the best in Toledo, that level of customer service makes it hard to justify returning. I hope they can improve that side of the experience, because their candy genuinely deserves the highest praise.

  I just happened to stop by for their chocolate strawberries. They were absolutely delicious! The staff behind the counter was super sweet too. These really made my day ❤️

  The chocolate turtles are HUGE.Best I've ever had in my 81 years
