White Mountain Creamery fans (the former tenant), prepare to be cautiously optimistic? First, they kept the interior mostly the same; the bench seating remains, etc. They improved the lighting and such, which is ironically a downgrade because it's a bit too bright and sterile for the classic late night stop. Prices are, of course up, and they have some interesting flavors (ex. Baklava, which was ehh). I tried two flavors and they were good, not great. Ohh and they now ask for tips with one of those toast computer machine payment contraptions, 15, 20 and 25% being fixed tip amounts? C'mon now make it $1, $2 and $5 in this economy. Message to the owners: Scale back. Rip out the 3 TVs showing loops of ice cream being made (no one cares), let a few lights flicker out (some mood lighting would go a long way), put some BC/Boston/old Newton swag on the walls, add the free water with cups, and get the basic flavors (vanilla, chocolate, cookie dough, etc.) 100% A+ before going into experimental stuff. Former White Mountain fans, give them 6 months to a 1 from now (winter 2026/2027) to settle in, then return and see if they've got the message or if a new era of BC kids are fine subsidizing this place and making WM nothing more than a memory from yesteryear. Overall, 3.5/5, round up to 4.

While I know and respect White Mountain as a beloved institution in the area, I am very happy that New City took over the location. Delicious ice cream, friendly staff, and clean restaurant. Excited to come back more and more this summer! My first flavor was chocolate hazelnut — really want to try Baklava next!

White Mountain Creamery is an Ice cream shop located right off of the Boston College campus, open late and serving a wide range of homemade ice creams throughout the year. The staff are friendly and able to discuss which flavors go well together, as well as get orders out quite quickly. The ice cream is really good. I really enjoy both the hard scoop as well as the shakes they serve here, and the price is pretty good for the portion size they get. The flavors aren't too sweet but have good flavor to them.

Good ice cream and really good size for the price. The interior tried to preserve White Mountain best they could. Takes Apple Pay now.
