The Story

Stepping out of the car, the sweet scent of vanilla and grilling burgers immediately transports you back to simpler times. Inside, the vibrant retro parlor hums with happy chatter as families enjoy classic treats. With each creamy scoop of frozen custard or thick, dreamy shake, it’s a taste of good old-fashioned American joy.

As a guide I have eaten in innumerable places across the country. This is the best ice cream I have ever had. I got the strawberry chocolate "concrete" and it's an actual taste of heaven. I was not impressed with the pastrami sandwich but the ice cream was to DIE for. It is a must try if you are in the area.

Where’s the chips? I usually love Nielsen’s Frozen Custard, so this visit was disappointing. I ordered a two-scoop mint chip custard, but there were barely any chocolate chips—maybe five in the entire serving. As you can see, most of it was just plain mint custard. The flavor was still good, but if I’m ordering mint chip, I expect more than a few chips. Hoping this was just an off day.

Nielsen’s Frozen Custard is proof that happiness can be served in a cup. The hardest decision isn’t whether to stop—it’s convincing yourself you don’t need a second scoop. Rich, creamy, and worth every calorie. Future me can deal with the consequences.

Everyday this place is full especially at night so I had to try it. Enjoyed a chocolate chip concrete. Very thick with good chunks of chocolate throughout the cup.
