We visited valdez for the history, waterfalls, wildlife, and the food! Northern treats was located right by our campground Eagles Rest and close to Safeway. We noticed the line almost every night was very busy and wanted to try it out. There was tons of drink options, customizations and they have lactose free options incase needed! Staff was extremely friendly and the orders were fast and efficient within minutes of ordering. Flavors were on point, quality and quantity was more then fair for the price, and ratios of ingredients were perfect. Its one of the few treat places in town and it stands out all across Alaska for a reason. This business is a professional establishment that specializes in delightful deserts for your entire family from milkshakes, sundaes and classic scoops of ice cream in a bowl or in a cone. Great job and our family will visit again in the future! If you go to valdez, make sure to stop and bring your sweet tooth.

Yummy icecream and generous portions! I got a soft serve cone and if I was staying longer in Valdez, I would definitely have returned.

Great ice cream and lots of cool choices. I had a chocolate milkshake. The kids had a raspberry milkshake and a hot fudge sundae. Reasonable price for the big portion sizes! Flavors of ice cream they have are vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, Pineapple. They had lots of toppings you can add. You should definitely stop there for a treat while you're in Valdez!

Tons of options from Dole pineapple floats to sundaes, milkshakes, parfaits and espresso (but they don’t open until noon, so don’t count on them for morning caffeine). Open late in the evenings. Kids can get free ice cream coupons from the Harbormaster for wearing their lifejackets. They did get my order incorrect 3 separate times on 3 separate occasions this week, but were quick to fix it without issue. Tons of parking, but the line can take awhile on nice summer evenings! Very kid friendly with a few kid-sized picnic tables too.
