Amazing ice cream! Huge serving sizes and the choices were excellent. Highly recommend the grasshopper (has thin mints) or mint chocolate chip. Several gluten free options, which is always appreciated.

Ah, Old Mill Ice Cream, where the scoops are big and the adults are… missing? We come here every time we’re in Star Valley. I don’t know who runs this place. I’ve never seen an adult. It’s like a summer camp where the kids took over the snack shack and just never stopped. And honestly? They’re doing great. The scoops are massive. You order a single and they hand you something that could legally be classified as a dairy boulder. Cone, cup, sundae — doesn’t matter. They don’t skimp. It’s like they’re trying to get rid of the ice cream before someone finds out they’re in charge. The flavor list is on the wall, and then there’s another list of flavors that are “in the back.” I don’t know what that means. Maybe they’re introverted flavors. But if you ask, they’ll go get them. There’s also a list of gluten-free flavors, and another list of nut-free flavors — which is a relief, because for a second I thought it said “not free,” and I was like, “Yeah, that’s just… pricing.” Speaking of pricing — it’s fantastic. Didn’t break the bank to bring the whole family, and we’ve got a lot of mouths and at least one person who thinks sprinkles count as a food group. You get big scoops, happy kids, and you still have money left over for gas and maybe a questionable souvenir from the fair. The decor is full-on “Old Mill,” which apparently means sawblades. Big ones. There’s one on the wall that’s roughly the size of a satellite dish for a family that only watches lumberjack competitions. It’s charming in a way that makes you feel like you’re eating ice cream inside a history museum run by teenagers. They’re open every day except Sunday, which is ironic because that’s the day you want a sundae. But they’ve got you covered Monday through Saturday. Just delay your dessert dreams by 24 hours. And if you’re here during the Lincoln County Fair, go find their booth at the fairgrounds in Afton. Same giant scoops, same youthful mystery. It’s like the kids franchised themselves. Five stars. Great ice cream. Great prices. Possibly run by a youth-led ice cream syndicate. I support it!

Yummy ice cream. Bit overpriced, (payed about $16 for only 3 of us if that helps). But they do give you a good portion and they have lots of flavors to choose from. Highly recommend Carmel Caribou. Get yourself an ice cream and enjoy the beautiful scenery!
