The Story

Pitt Street Pharmacy has anchored Mount Pleasant's Old Village since 1937. The counter is short, the wait is real, and the milkshake is worth both.

We stumbled across this place by accident, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our day. Pitt Street Pharmacy feels like stepping back in time—in the best possible way. The old-school soda fountain, the vintage details, and the welcoming atmosphere make it more than just a stop for ice cream… it’s an experience. I ordered a chocolate milkshake, and it was hands-down one of the best I’ve had in a long time -thick, creamy, and made the way milkshakes are supposed to be. No shortcuts, just simple, real ingredients done right. The staff were friendly and genuine, which added to the charm. You can tell this place has history, and they’ve preserved it beautifully. If you’re anywhere nearby, don’t pass this place up. It’s the kind of spot that reminds you how special the simple things can be.

Where some of the Outer Banks filming has taken place. Need I say more? The store is charming. Has a small pharmacy and an old time soda fountain/ grill. We were tourists but it seemed like the kind of place where locals hang out (a bunch were at the soda fountain area when we were there). You can get old fashioned candy and make sure to check out the vintage medical supplies around the wall, really neat! The staff is also very friendly.

This is always a must do stop during our annual trip to the Low Country area. Just plain cool. Don't understand any review other than 5 star
