Rakestraw’s is my go-to stop for ice cream. Their ice cream is outstanding! They always have my favorite flavor, Banana Pudding, in stock. My kids love their homemade milkshakes! The portion sizes are incredibly generous, especially for the price, and the waffle cones are absolutely delicious. Every visit is a great value! What really sets Rakestraw’s apart, though, is the people. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and the owners are fantastic. They are genuinely invested in the community and have supported our school through several giveback events over the past few years. It’s clear they care about more than just serving great ice cream. If you’re looking for amazing ice cream, friendly service, and a business that gives back to the community, Rakestraw’s is hard to beat!

My experience at this establishment was extremely disappointing. From the moment I arrived, I felt unwelcome. I was repeatedly stared at, rushed through my interaction, and treated with a noticeably poor attitude by the staff. As the only Black customer in the store, I couldn't help but notice a stark difference in how other customers, who were all white during my visit, were treated. They appeared to receive friendlier and more attentive service, while I felt ignored and uncomfortable throughout my time there. What makes this especially disheartening is that I genuinely enjoyed the ice cream, and the homemade cones were a highlight. Watching them make the cones was unique and something I appreciated. Unfortunately, the quality of the product could not outweigh the way I was made to feel. The experience was so unsettling that it felt like stepping back into a time when discrimination was openly accepted. Jim Crow era. Because of this, I will not be returning. I would also encourage people of color, especially families with children, to think carefully before visiting. No one should have to endure an experience that leaves them feeling unwelcome or judged because of their race.

I came for their seasonal grand opening. It was crazy busy! The line was like 20 minutes long. But hey, the ice cream was great, lots of choices.

This place sells Hershey’s ice cream and was pretty good. They had lots of unique flavors and had no sugar added flavors, too. The place is pretty large inside. The only reason for the 4 stars is they only have 6 chairs outside and no tables/chairs inside. There was plenty of room to add some seating. While we were there several families came and there was hardly room for all to sit. There is ample parking.
