I’ve been dying to get here since following Ms. Scoops on the Food Network. Entering the shop i was so aesthetically pleased. I was reminded of my childhood and how the old school ice cream shops were set up, but here there was a modern twist. The staff were super friendly and Ruby herself was very attentive and super friendly to everyone! Which I thought was pretty awesome 😎👏🏽 I could see the passion and enthusiasm and that made the experience even more special. I got a simple chocolate milkshake and it was gross. It was way too liquidated. Not just a preference thing it was undrinkable. It had the texture of expired milk and the taste of a quarter scoop of ice cream and two litters of milk and whatever else they put in it. Not to mention it was 9$ and the size of the cup couldn’t have even held a single scoop of ice cream. Unrelated they have “vegan ice cream”. Ice cream is a dairy product not an almond product. Not to mention they had the audacity to ask for a tip.

Stop what you’re doing and go getcha some ice cream from Ruby Scoops! It took me too long to get over here but I’m now a believer - one of the best shops in Richmond. I had the horchata latte & black sesame oreo both were perfection. Can’t wait to return - thanks for a great visit & unique offerings. Staff was friendly, there is plenty of seating, and it was light & bright inside.

Ruby Scoops has officially stolen my dessert-loving heart! I got the vegan cake batter and it tasted like pure nostalgia in a cup, creamy and perfectly sweet without feeling heavy. My husband ordered the ube cookies & cream and could not stop raving about it. The flavor was rich and velvety, with the ube shining through without overpowering the cookies and cream. The vibe inside is warm and inviting, and you can tell they put so much love into their flavors. The staff felt genuinely excited about ice cream, which made the experience even better.
