Saugatuck Drug Store

The Story
Butler Street's drugstore has filled prescriptions since 1898 and never got rid of the soda fountain, which is exactly why beach-goers pack the stools every July. A malt here comes with the tin.

Large store with a full pharmacy, regular everyday items, and some tourist type stuff. I can see how the variety of items, and certainly pharmacy would come in handy. We stopped intending to get an Italian soda/ice cream. One side of the store is an old school diner. Like a lot of things in Saugatuck it was being run by younger individuals. Unlike our other experiences, which were overwhelmingly positive, this place was a mess. Most of the time there were no staff in sight, and the employees who were there were in no hurry to take or fulfill orders. After watching people in front of us wait over 10 minutes to have a soda filled from the soda machine we bailed. Cute diner area, could be nice. Tons of other nearby places that were being better run.

Step back in time to a drug store that has it all! Historic building. Great t-shirt selection as well as snacks, toys, souvenirs and just about anything you’re looking for!
