The Story

The red and white stripes of Scott's Dairy Freeze at 234 E North Bend Way beckoned like a classic postcard, promising sweet relief and a taste of yesteryear. Inside, the air hummed with happy chatter and the delicious scent of grilling burgers, while kids lined up for towering ice cream cones and creamy shakes. It’s the kind of North Bend spot where every bite of a hot dog and every swirl of soft-serve feels like a timeless, sun-drenched memory being made.

10:30 am Tuesday. Nobody else there. The young lady at the register is very friendly and likely handles the afternoon rush very well. My burger came out in a few minutes. Ordered without any sauce and added fry sauce myself. It was great of course. 2 small patties as expected. I would like to work my way thru the menu eventually. I took a picture of the menu for the google.

Such a cute place with a nice 50s vibe. Food was delicious! The chia malt was yummy! Line was a bit long. Must be a popular spot, but the food came out so quickly. The people serving were so polite and accommodating. This is our new spot when we come out to hike around north bend.

The burgers were basically raw and the thinnest I’ve ever seen. Over priced and literally flavorless. Yuck.

Absolute perfection in the shadow of Mount Si ... I had heard about this 1960s style Burger stand with outdoor dining in the heart of North bend and still was blown away. I ordered a double cheeseburger and chocolate milkshake and the double cheeseburger was absolutely huge and the milk steak was still solid in mid-80s heat a half hour later. It is exactly the way you would picture the burger circumans with outdoor dining from decades ago and it is such a perfect stop. The staff was so incredibly friendly, it looks like mostly high school kids in the area, and in their defense, a huge group of children had just shown up so things may have been quicker at another time. Love this place and I will definitely be back
