The Story

Sip 'n Soda has resisted every wave of Hamptons gloss since the Parash family opened it in 1958. Same Formica, same griddle, same house-made ice cream, and a lime rickey squeezed to order that is the correct answer to an August afternoon.

I have been going here for decades! Now I get to enjoy the awesome food with my son. Great egg sandwiches, grilled cheese, hamburgers, hotdog and my sons favorite is silver dollar pancakes a lime. Ricky followed up with one of their amazing homemade ice cream creams. Just remember it’s cash only

My friends and I came in close to closing and when we entered we were asked if we wanted ice cream or to eat and we said to eat. As we sat , we could feel right away that the service wasn’t going to be happy and lively. The server didn’t introduce her self , she felt passive aggressive and it felt like we were a burden to them not going home fast enough. The server proceeded to bring out our food and we were told we had to wait longer for the kids chicken tenders , once we finally received the tenders we cut them open and they were raw inside. We proceeded to tell our already not pleasant waitress and she picked up the plate said sorry and brushed it off like it was nothing. We also witnessed the waitress take a handful of our onions rings barehanded out of a bucket to throw them in the fryer after touching everything else around her. The whole process we felt rushed and the waitress was just plain rude. Even when we all got up to leave , who I am assuming is the owner(slightly older lady with dark hair and her waitress daughter), don’t even tell us “thank you “ or “have a nice day” as were leaving , it was very uncomfortable and it’s sad because I’ve been here before and enjoyed the cute environment of the place but will never be returning again. The food itself is terrible and the customer service was even worse. I wish they would have turned us away at the door due to the time rather then us have to sit through this unpleasant eating experience. Also I still tipped regardless , because that’s who I am but it wasn’t deserved. I liked the milkshake but wouldn’t even come back for that due to the extremely poor service.

I love that places like this still exist! Such a cute old school luncheonette. Food and service was excellent. The Lime Rickey did not disappoint! Worth checking out if you’re in the area.
