The Story

Just down the road from Hershey, the Soda Jerk plays its part with gusto: chrome, vinyl, a dairy bar window and shakes thick enough to bend a straw. Breakfast is the local secret.

Three of us had a fathers days lunch at the Soda Jerk Diner. Even though it was Father’s Day around noon we were able to get seated within 15 minutes which was a pleasant surprise. I love the retro 50’s decor and atmosphere of this diner, makes you feel like “Happy Days” all over again. Our food was all delicious and was served promptly and the wait staff was friendly. What more can you ask for? Great place to stop off on the way to or from the Hershey attractions.

Absolute GEM of a classically setup diner with all the proper fare, atmosphere, pricing, and staff! Definitely worth a stop if you're in town to visit the AACA museum to add onto the atmosphere of classic cars and the Americana.

I’m new to the area and have driven past the Soda Jerk for a few months now. Stopped in with a few coworkers for lunch. The service was slow and the milkshakes weren’t jaw dropping but the prices (except the milkshakes) were great and everything came out fresh even if it took a bit. I got the Chicken Croquettes since I’ve never had them before. It took awhile for them to come out but they came out piping hot and fresh. They were tasty and would be great on a cold winter day. I will definitely come back to try out more items when I have plenty of time to allow. I will say, I think the cook had something else on his mind when plating my food 😂😅 we were giggling a lot. No disrespect to the restaurant, but maybe just… lay them down on the potatoes for serving? Thanks Soda Jerk for an entertaining and yummy lunch.
