Spinning J Bakery and Soda Fountain

The Story
Spinning J built a proper fountain into a scratch bakery: acid phosphates, house syrups, egg creams, and pies that would win a county fair. The tin ceiling and the terrazzo make it feel eighty years older than it is.

Super cute spot! Not a ton of seating but we got a booth pretty quickly. I loveddd the hibiscus key lime pie and my strawberry rhubarb soda. I think I prefer the desserts and the pastries more than the meals (shout out to the baker in the back his lamination is top tier), but I'll definitely be back for another slice of pie 😋

Love the vibe and decor. Food was fantastic — Pain aux raisins were FIRE! (We had to take a bite before we got seated since the wait was just too long, but definitely worth it!) One last thing, there’s no 🍖 in their Grilled “Beet” Rueben. (It’s “Beet,” not Beef) Don’t hate me. Just wanted to call it out since there’s no (v) sign on the menu and I really needed my proteins. 😆

The sourdough from the Spinning J tasted great! This place is a great little local cafe where you can grab or dine in on a quick bite. If you’re in the area, come on in and try the different handmade sodas.
