Love that it hasn't changed since I was a kid. When I am in town, I have to come here for their soft serve. Delicious just like I remember it. Shelton has changed a lot but I'm glad that this place hasn't. They have delicious flavors hard and soft plus takeaway pints and ice cream sandwiches. Also cakes but I am obsessed with their soft serve! Takes me back to simpler times. A must for a hot summer day or just because life is good!

Loved our first visit today to the Icecream Shoppe! Lots ofnyummy flavors...an array of icecream cakes that can be special ordered.... they sell pints and quarts of their flavors. Cute blur benches outside to enjoy. My daughter loves Cookie Monster. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

I’m giving this place 2 stars because the ice cream is genuinely delicious. If I were rating the product alone, it would easily be 5 stars. Unfortunately, customer service is a huge part of the experience, and ours was disappointing enough that we won’t be returning. We walked in at approximately 9:30 PM, knowing the shop closes at 10:00 PM. The employees were already cleaning, which is understandable, but from the second we walked through the door, it was painfully obvious we weren’t welcome. They all looked at each other for what felt like an eternity, silently deciding who was going to help us. It took about 10 seconds before anyone even approached the window, and the expressions on their faces made it clear they were annoyed that customers had come in during posted business hours. As paying customers arriving a full 30 minutes before closing, we shouldn’t have been made to feel like we were inconveniencing the staff simply by ordering ice cream. After we got our order, we sat outside for a few minutes. During that time, we watched five or six more cars pull in with families, children, and couples looking to enjoy a quick treat on a Thursday night. I couldn’t help but wonder if they were greeted with the same cold, unwelcoming attitude. What makes this even more disappointing is that this has always been one of my favorite summer spots. We genuinely looked forward to coming here every year, but after this experience, we’ll be taking our business elsewhere. I also noticed that several other reviews mention similar issues with customer service, so unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this was an isolated incident. I hope management takes these reviews seriously and has a conversation with the staff. Great ice cream keeps people coming once, but great customer service is what keeps them coming back. Unfortunately, this experience did the exact opposite.
