  The Malt Shop is one of those hidden gems you would probably drive right past if you didn’t know it was there. Tucked away off 141, it’s not a place we would have randomly found unless we stumbled across it—but now that we know about it, we make sure to stop anytime we’re in the area. One of my favorite things about this place is the variety of options. The employees even have a list of their personal favorites, which makes it fun to try something new instead of sticking with the same thing every time. While the ice cream and sweet treats are definitely a highlight, don’t overlook their food. They serve delicious, hot hamburgers and crispy fries that make it more than just a dessert stop. It’s the kind of classic, hometown spot that has something for everyone. Every time we bring someone new with us, they end up asking when we can go back. The food is great, the atmosphere is welcoming, and it’s become one of those places we look forward to visiting whenever we’re nearby.

  Love this place and the food and desserts are always good and we will definitely be back but ….This was my hot fudge sundae . Didn’t see much hot fudge on it so went to the window and they said everyone makes it different and they guaranteed there was hot fudge in there . There may have been a whole teaspoon of fudge for the whole medium sundae . Was hoping the fudge was at the bottom but there wasn’t much at the bottom of it either . Of all the hot fudges sundaes I’ve had in my life they always had visible hot chocolate drizzled all over it. Just sayin🤷🏻‍♀️.

  Not a fast food spot that you'd notice unless you're prone to seeking detours off main thoroughfares; but the products & service & community atmosphere are well worth the search. Parking along the property entry drive plus on the south side of the building appears to accommodate typical crowd sizes. The young staff at the walk-up order window & adjacent pick-up window are extraordinarily friendly & professional. The made-to-order meals & ice cream treats are announced for customer retrieval (no loud speakers, so designate someone to hang around out front for names to be called). Outdoor seating on both sides of the building and benches out front offer options for dine-in customers, while the takeaway volume seems to be steady. This was a second Sunday afternoon springtime visit to the Fenton Malt Shop for my wife & me, and we decided to try their Pork Fritter Sandwich & Fried Chicken Sandwich with a shared order of Crinkle Cut Fries. Both simple sandwiches were perfectly cooked, and tasty Fries portioning was enough to cover us both. My chocolate shake was a good sweet treat, and my wife had a Coke fountain drink with her meal. Another very satisfying stopover at The Malt Shop, and their extensive menu will encourage us to return again when our suburban wanderings bring us back to the area.

  Great mom and pop ice cream shop! Phenomenal service and fire banana splits! I smashed it in the parking lot.
