Mother in law is visiting, so we have been exploring the area and checking out new things. This day, it was Putz and Glow and the Silver Lining Creamery. There is a list on the wall of around 100 'creations'. However, those are not all available. They only had a few (10?) flavors, so that was disappointing for my husband. He couldn't find anything he wanted. My Mother in law tried a vanilla bean ice cream and she liked it. I tried the Lavender Matcha and loved it. That might have made an amazing shakes, too! It looks like they make their ice cream on-site. If I am in the downtown area, I will try them again.

Went for an evening ice cream on my anniversary with my wife. Line was out the door and only 2 girls were working - but they were cranking! Got us through the long line in a very reasonable time, and were pleasant to interact with, but you could tell they were stressed. My wife got to the front of the line and asked for gluten free options which is a wrench in most people’s customer service (especially thirty minutes to closing) but they were happy to help her and willing to scoop her dish from the back room, in the midst of a line still running out the door. To the employer: you’ve got some hard working women, certainly deserving of a break, or a raise - or both. This duo knocked it out of the park. To the public: Highly recommend for the ice cream too.

We had the best ice cream for dessert at our wedding and weeks later we are still receiving questions about where to find it. We were able to order cheesecake and Oreo lovers flavors in gallons and it was phenomenal. The texture, flavor, quality is just exceptional!

I visit family around once a year in Rapid City, and it’s a MUST that I go to Silver Lining every time we’re in town! I’m from Chicago and now live in Boston - needless to say I have tried a lot of ice cream. Silver Lining remains one of my all-time favorites. They have a great selection of rotating flavors, but you need to try Lavender Honey or Sage if they’re available when you visit! If they don’t have those, I thoroughly enjoy both the cotton candy and their sorbets which they usually always have. I’ve also only ever experienced kind and helpful service from the staff. So if you’re in Rapid looking for an excellent sweet treat, I highly recommend Silver Lining as your go-to :)
