We went here for a sweet treat after the beach. They have a lot of original names and ideas for milk shakes. I thought my banana and chocolate chip one was good. I think I’m just more of a Culver’s concrete guy now. I like them better and they are cheaper. But that’s my preference.

Patrick and Jennifer were amazing!! We got the durian shake and the glamfire milkshake. Simply put these were some of the best shakes I had. If you haven't tried this place I highly recommend it.

May 20, 2026: Might be Spring in SoCal but the temps have been unusually brutal. You might not be from the area so might be looking for a unique place to get a nice cold shake. Plenty of options in the area but how many offer a unique creation that will be one of the most memorable experiences of your trip? The Straw is your place. Patrick puts more than just work into his creations; it’s obvious from the menu the shake options are about to reveal an art form. I ordered the Saigon Soul - a unique blend that includes durian fruit. Durian fruit is worth looking up. It might not be the go-to drink for everyone but the options should allow anyone to find their go-to choice. If you are making a trip to SoCal, add The Straw: Modern Milkshakes to you must visit, must experience list. Patrick will make you more than a milkshake, he will apply his artist touch to make you an incredible experience.

First time here and had a great experience! Amazing service and loved they had vegan options! I got a vegan version of “the street” milkshake, and was definitely delicious! I definitely recommend.
