Take a trip back in time and visit Thomas Drugs. Yes, it is a full service independent drug store, but it is so much more than that. It is also an old-time soda fountain ice cream shop diner that is absolutely great. My wife and I live in Spring Hill, so it's over an hour away from our home, so we can't go often. In fact, we tried to go there three separate times before we succeeded in eating their delicious ice cream. The first time, being newbies to Tennessee, we went on a Sunday drive, without checking their hours of operation, and it was closed. The second time, we went there on a workday, and we got there after it closed. Finally, we planned our trip to Cross Plains, and got there on a workday when it was still own. My wife had a traditional banana split, and I had the Elvis Banana Split (peanut butter and chocolate instead of fruit toppings). They were both absolutely delicious. However, when we ordered them, the server came back and said they were out of bananas. But, instead of asking us to order something else, she said if we wouldn't mind waiting that she sent someone to the grocery store to buy more bananas. Who did that these days? We waited, and the wait was definitely worthwhile. The service here is excellent, and the staff is delightful. Finally, when we went to pay, we got our final pleasant surprise. The young man who took our payment said "thank you so much for coming to Thomas Drugs. It was a pleasure serving you, and please come back again". I don't believe I have experienced such a lovely group of young people in any other eating establishment in my memory. Thomass Drugs doesn't just serve ice cream. I saw them making making sandwiches and very delicious looking burgers, that I will have to try on my next trip. And there definitely will be a next trip.

Such an amazing place. Whether you need a milkshake and a burger, to fill a prescription, or find something as a gift, this is the place. My wife and I have been coming here for over five years now, and the service and folks who owns and work here are simply the best. We'll definitely return many many more times!

Absolutely love getting to visit here. Out of all the dessert places there are, my son begs us to take him here. It is an adorable atmosphere and love the down home charm ♥️
