I've been going to this shop since I was a young child, and have nearly 100% been satisfied. I went in today with a friend of mine. We were really surprised by the lack of choices in the prepackaged items. There were no variety bags, but mainly prepackaged chippers throughout that section. They did have boxes with a variety of chocolates and some of the platters, but the boxes were not even sealed, neither inside nor outside the box, and there were no boxes for display purposes so you could see what was inside! Without any protection I did not want to purchase any of those. Though it was not busy, and there were three women behind the counter not a single one asked us if we needed any assistance. One smiled, and the other two were as sober and as deadpan and antisocial as could be. We each purchased items and I'm not sure if the woman who helped us even said thank you because she mumbled so low. I inquired about a couple things but I was met with disinterested eyes and no words. Without asking she threw away my receipt, and I requested to have it so she took the crumpled receipt out of the drawer and set it on the counter with no words. My friend made her purchase after me and she did the same thing, rather than ask she threw her receipt and my friend had to ask if she could retrieve the receipt. I am not eager to go back at any time soon. Customer service has definitely changed. Such a shame.

I just left Widman's Candy Shop and I'm pretty sure I gained 12 lb just by being in there. This shop is chock full of unique and novel sweet treats. There's stuff in here you would never imagine. Just be grateful it exists. I was so excited by all of the new and relevant holiday themed candies that I was as happy as a kid in a candy shop. Well, I was in a candy shop, just an older kid. They always offer free samples and have the greatest recommendations for your taste or events. Be sure to ask for Steven Widman's Chocolate Fudge. It's absolutely the best!

Only street parking...got lucky and grabbed 4 parking spots for rv. Great choc covered jalapeño

Happiest place in Grand Forks. Staff was all smiles and friendly and got me set up for my holiday shopping. Chippers to chocolate covered olives, yes they are a thing and delicious. They got milk chocolate and dark chocolate, and a great selection of sugar free goodies. This is a must stop when visiting Grand Firks and North Dakota. If chocolate doesn't put a smile on your face then you are sour grapes.
